How VPN mode functions

Proxy mode takes a different tack: Happ runs a local proxy server built on Xray-core, and only the traffic deliberately aimed at it — a particular browser or apps set to use that proxy — actually passes through. That comes in handy when you'd like to redirect a chosen few programs rather than the entire device, without standing up a system-wide VPN tunnel.
When proxy wins out over VPN
Happ Proxy mode is worth turning to when:
- a system-wide VPN clashes with other software or with the device's network settings;
- you want finer control over which traffic runs through the server to get around blocks and which heads out directly;
- you'd rather send only a browser or a single app through the server instead of the whole device.
